MMOB
My mum raised me to MMOB (Mind My Own Business), so I'm not trying to be all up in your personal data.
But... analytics are crucial for running a site like this. When I propose collaborations with brands, they need to know how much traffic my site gets and the general demographics of my audience.
Luckily, I don’t need to identify you with over intrusive site analytics. So I'm using the privacy-respecting Matomo Analytics over Google Analytics. This means I own all the analytics data—it’s stored on my server, not Google’s.
Plus, Matomo lets me anonymize your IP data, so I never see your full IP address and have no way to identify you—cause you know I like to MMOB.
Demographics and Data Sharing
I collect audience demographics to share with affiliates as aggregate data. If you prefer not to be included in this anonymized data collection, you can opt out here:
Opt Out of Tracking
You can choose to prevent this site from aggregating and analyzing your actions here. This will protect your privacy, but it will also prevent me from learning and creating a better experience for you.
No Google Tracking
Dear Google-Sensei: "My mum told me to tell you, to mind your own...business" —Kevin Hart ⚠️ NSFW (Explicit)
We all know Google ain't MYOB-friendly, so this site does not rely on Google services like Google Analytics, Google AdSense, or Google Tag Manager. While using Google does offers its advantages, the privacy concerns aren’t worth it to me.
In place of Google Analytics, I use Matomo Analytics, and instead of Google ads, I “advertise” the main way you can support the site which is to buy me a coffee.
Affiliate Tracking
Another way your activity might be tracked is through the affiliate platforms I work with. If you read a review and decide to buy a product, I earn a small commission for the referral. There are no ads on this site, so this is one of the few ways that helps support the website at no extra cost to you.
When you click a link within a review, it tells the affiliate platform that a user came from my site. No personal information is exchanged that could identify you, except the details you’d normally enter when placing an order on the merchant's site.
The data transferred varies depending on the affiliate platform and usually includes what was purchased and how much was spent to calculate commissions. But again, it does not contain any personal information that could reveal your identity. Honestly, I have better things to do than figure out who bought five NANOBAGs in one go; though I don't blame ya they're tiny and convient AF.
Third-Party Tracking
If you click on a link that takes you to another website, they might track you—I have no control over that. I also can’t control how third-party services I use might track you, but I do my best to choose the right partners.
When you contact me, I get your info... Duh.
If you reach out to me via email, social media, or by leaving a comment, I’ll obviously have access to the information you share. But don’t worry, I’m not compiling lists or anything like that.
